Kimpton Hotel Fontenot

Delawie provided architectural design services to renovate and rebrand the Kimpton Hotel Fontenot, a 202-room boutique hotel located at a major intersection in the heart of New Orleans’ Central Business District.

The project saw the creation of a signature meeting space and bar called the Peacock Room, as well as the Gospel Coffee Café to energize the corner at Tchoupitoulas and Poydras and meeting spaces.

An additional 18 guestrooms were created on various floors of the tower by taking over under-utilized and non-guestroom spaces. Each of the 202 guest rooms offer bespoke amenities and feature a clean and modern design aesthetic.

The project also included converting an uncovered parking structure at level two of the building into an exterior pre-function space adjacent to the historic building.

The main entry and guest registration area of the hotel was relocated to enhance the sense of arrival.
